Our prairie is particularly colorful this spring. We aren't sure if it it because we burned this spring (second spring in a row) or because it has been dry or... but whatever the reason we are enjoying the view.

We have rattlesnake master with a side of butterfly weed...

We have noticed a lot of butterfly weed this spring, much of it bright orange, and a very yellow variety on trail 7 at Pokagon, by the wetlands. There is a lot on the roadsides including a plot that the homeowner has taken care to mow around.
